Vibe UK Young People Join Community to Celebrate Knowsley Pride 2026

Young people from Vibe UK’s Me Time and GLOW groups joined the local community for Rainbow in the Park, marking the culmination of Knowsley Pride 2026 and a week of remembrance, visibility, and celebration.

Throughout the afternoon, young people got involved in the event, connected with members of the community, and shared positive messages with those they met. The celebration also provided an opportunity for young people to express themselves and experience Pride within their own local community.

A particularly proud moment came when young people from GLOW, Vibe UK’s LGBTQ+ youth provision, took to the stage to perform in front of the community. Their performance was a fantastic celebration of confidence, creativity, and young LGBTQ+ voices.

At the heart of Knowsley Pride is the legacy of Michael Causer, who was just 18 years old when he was murdered in a homophobic attack in 2008. His death had a profound impact on the local community and his memory continues to be an important part of the story of Pride and LGBTQ+ inclusion across the area.

Knowsley Pride 2026 began with remembrance and reflection before culminating in Rainbow in the Park, bringing the community together in celebration. Both elements play an important role in honouring Michael’s legacy: remembering why Pride and LGBTQ+ visibility remain necessary while creating spaces where people can come together openly and positively.

For the young people involved, the event offered the opportunity to be visible, express themselves, celebrate alongside others, and contribute positivity to their own community.
