GLOW Leads the Way at Halton Pride 2026

Young people from GLOW, VIBE's LGBTQIA+ youth group, proudly took centre stage at this year's Halton Pride, leading the Pride Parade before delivering a series of inspiring performances that celebrated identity, creativity and community.

The day began with GLOW leading the march through the streets of Halton, filling the parade with colour, music, flags and an unmistakable sense of pride. Carrying Pride flags and celebrating alongside local organisations, families and supporters, the young people helped create a welcoming and vibrant start to the borough's annual Pride celebrations.

Later in the day, the GLOW Choir performed on the main stage, continuing a remarkable Pride Month that has seen the group perform at the Pride Cabaret and as special guests of Liverpool's Rainbow Chorus. The choir performed a selection of songs celebrating love, acceptance and individuality, receiving a fantastic reception from the audience.

Alongside the choir, two of GLOW's young people, Jess and Cam, performed original spoken word pieces they had written themselves. Their powerful performances explored themes of identity, belonging and self-expression, showcasing the confidence and creativity that has grown through their involvement with GLOW.

The performances formed part of VIBE's ongoing commitment to creating opportunities for LGBTQIA+ young people to develop confidence, build friendships and have their voices heard through music, performance and creative expression.

The success of GLOW's performances throughout Pride Month has highlighted the positive impact that creative opportunities can have on young people's wellbeing and self-confidence. From first rehearsals to public performances in front of large audiences, members of the group have embraced every opportunity to challenge themselves and support one another.

VIBE would like to thank everyone involved in organising Halton Pride for creating such a welcoming and inclusive event, and congratulate all of the young people who represented GLOW with such enthusiasm, courage and pride.

With another successful Pride Month coming to a close, GLOW continues to provide a safe, supportive and empowering space for LGBTQIA+ young people aged 11–17 across Halton, offering weekly youth sessions, creative opportunities and a place where every young person can be themselves.
