Young Carers Enjoy Life-Changing Weekend at UK's Largest Young Carers Festival

Young carers supported by Vibe UK recently travelled to the UK's largest Young Carers Festival, joining hundreds of other young carers from across the country for an unforgettable weekend of adventure, creativity, wellbeing, and friendship.

Held from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th June 2026, the annual festival provides young carers with a rare opportunity to step away from their caring responsibilities and simply enjoy being young. The event brings together children and young people from across the UK, creating a supportive environment where they can meet others who truly understand their experiences.

Across the weekend, Vibe UK's young carers took part in a wide variety of activities designed to build confidence, encourage creativity, and promote wellbeing. More importantly, they formed new friendships, embraced new experiences, and created memories that will stay with them for years to come.

Across the UK, it is estimated that almost 800,000 children and young people provide care for a family member or loved one, often balancing school, friendships, and everyday life alongside their caring responsibilities. Opportunities such as the Young Carers Festival provide invaluable respite, allowing young carers to relax, connect with their peers, and focus on their own wellbeing.

Vibe UK is proud to support young carers by creating opportunities that recognise their incredible resilience while ensuring they have access to experiences that every young person deserves.

The organisation extends its thanks to everyone involved in delivering the festival and is delighted that its young carers were able to be part of such a special and inspiring weekend.
