Pride Prom Brings Colour, Celebration and Community to Halton's LGBTQIA+ Young People

Young people from GLOW, VIBE's LGBTQIA+ youth group, came together this week for an unforgettable evening of celebration, friendship and Pride at the DCBL Stadium in Widnes.

Pride Prom 2026 welcomed GLOW members for a night of music, dancing, photographs, games and celebration in a safe and inclusive environment designed specifically for LGBTQIA+ young people and their allies.

The event transformed part of the stadium into a colourful Pride-themed venue, complete with balloon displays, decorations, music and a dedicated photo area, creating a memorable experience for everyone who attended.

Throughout the evening, young people enjoyed dancing to their favourite songs, spending time with friends and celebrating the end of another successful year for GLOW. The event also provided an important opportunity for young people to socialise and build connections with others who share similar experiences and interests.

Pride Prom has become a highlight of the GLOW calendar, offering a space where young people can be themselves, express their identities freely and create lasting memories with friends.

The event was made possible through the support of several local businesses and organisations. VIBE would like to thank Short & Sweet for providing balloons, Asda for supporting the event with food and decorations, Toni for supplying chair covers, and DCBL Stadium for hosting the event and helping create such a welcoming venue.

The event forms part of GLOW's wider Pride Month programme, which has included performances by the newly formed GLOW Choir, creative projects celebrating LGBTQIA+ identities and participation in local Pride events.

As preparations continue for Halton Pride, Pride Prom served as another reminder of the importance of creating spaces where LGBTQIA+ young people feel welcomed, valued and celebrated.
