St Helens Youth Council Proudly Supports St Helens Pride

St Helens Youth Council (STHYC) is proud to be part of St Helens Pride, celebrating inclusion, diversity and the voices of young people across the borough.

Young people from STHYC have been actively involved in supporting Pride, using their platform to promote acceptance, equality and representation for LGBTQIA+ young people in St Helens.

Through campaigns, discussions and creative projects, the group has been working to ensure that all young people feel safe, respected and able to be themselves. Their involvement in Pride reflects their ongoing commitment to building a more inclusive community.

Members of the Youth Council have also been developing ideas around education and awareness, including improving understanding of language, identity and allyship within schools and youth settings.

A spokesperson from St Helens Youth Council said:
“Pride is so important for young people. It’s about feeling accepted, celebrated and knowing that you belong. We want St Helens to be a place where everyone can be proud of who they are.”

STHYC continues to work closely with partners and other youth groups to amplify young voices and ensure that inclusion remains a key focus across all areas of their work.

Their presence at St Helens Pride highlights the positive role young people are playing in shaping a more open, supportive and diverse future for the borough.
